Guild Rules:
+Be respectful and understanding of each other: Now don't misunderstand me here, since I actually encourage players to have characters with an antagonistic nature, but being "respectful" is going to apply ONLY to each other out of character here. I realize characters will come in an array of personalities, so it can quite often become subjective. If everyone understands each other, I believe everything will work together much more smoothly.
ABSOLUTELY NO NON-ROLEPLAY DRAMA! Let me tell you about how much I hate guild drama. -.-
+No Godmodding, powerplaying, or metagaming: This means no characters with invincibility, god-like powers, immortality, or the such. Making your character have these attributes just makes it difficult for others to roleplay with you (and it's super boring as well). Characters with natural flaws make things so much more interesting and fun! :)
In terms of roleplaying, we really want to avoid the excessive dodging or shield blocks during a fight. Just aim for looking realistic here, basically. Whom ever is roleplaying as the attacker also should lean away from the all-powerful attacks here.
Also, an important one: Remember that your character doesn't know everything. What I mean to say here is that, your character should never have the upper hand UNLESS they have learned the other's weaknesses through role-playing before. This is metagaming otherwise, and it's baddd! We understand though that sometimes accidents happen, and if you mean well then we can always forgive. Just be careful and remember that your character is his/her own person. They won't know as much as you do.
+Mature Roleplay: Erotic roleplay is something I won't really condone, at least in public... If you want to do this with another player, then please keep it between yourselves. I won't judge you in this case, but it's kind of awkward otherwise. :x That being said I don't really mind mildly lewd behavior in role plays (sometimes lecherous characters can be pretty funny), but try to be careful at least.
+Follow the lore: This is a super important one. Please follow the storyline of the Guild Wars 2 game. We know the game is huge and it can be a lot to take in, but please try to do your best to follow along with it. We have a thread here with information and links pertaining to the game and all its lore.
+Participation in the Community: Although we are a fairly casual roleplay guild, it is expected that members try their best to work together as a community. Sometimes other players may need assistance, or hopes to set up an event, and we would really like to see others working together to meet the common goal.
This guild also plans to set up "official" guild events from time to time, and we would really like to encourage fellow roleplayers to attend these as much as possible. We realize some members may have other guild duties, or RL thingies (the most common one), so we're pretty understanding in that department. :) Just please try to attend if you can!
+Out of character: Guild chat should always remain in-character. Certain boards on this forum are roleplay-only as well. This doesn't mean that OOC chat isn't allowed, but if you need to speak in OOC chat you need to do so in an easy to indicate way (I usually use parenthesis when I speak out of character). Private chat or PMs sometimes make things more easier to convey out of roleplay.
+Communication: Communication is vital to roleplaying, especially in one-on-one roleplays. Sometimes you might need to make an arrangement in a fight (for example: character A requests to steal a treasure map from character B in order to further the plot-line for them both. It would be good to explain what could happen afterwards and see if the other player is OK with this). Remember that a character's attitude should not reflect the roleplayer's. Don't hate a RP'er because their character is dickish.
+Alternate guilds and characters: The Ravenwing Marauders is completely fine with chars being in more than one guild. We are also accepting of other characters being in the guild as long as they are roleplayed as well.
+Label your Titles: Is your forum roleplay a little on the violent side? Put an [M] in your title for mature. Is it an open roleplay? Put an [Open RP] in the title. One-on-one only? [1-on-1]. It doesn't have to be *exactly* the same as what I've put as an example, but you should make your title easy to understand for other RPers.
+For any characters that suddenly go missing: We know that this is sometimes inevitable (and sad :'( ). Characters come and go, and often it is without word that they may leave the game. If we find it necessary we may need to control another's character in order to move them out of the story. We will NOT do this if a warning has been given to us ahead of time, or if little time has passed for them to go missing. We will also try to roleplay them in a respectful way, so if they do happen to come back we can hopefully bring them back into the guild and roleplay again!
If anyone feels like they need to leave the game, or they will be gone for a long time, please, please let the staff know! <3
Please let me know if you have any questions! If anyone is found breaking the rules, then please give me or any other staff members a message. We will talk to the offending player and try to work things out! If you are found breaking rules and such you are subject to being given a warning or possibly kicked from the guild.
